Our setting uses a key person approach. This means that each member of staff has a group of children for whom he/she is particularly responsible for. Your child’s key person will be the person who works with you to make sure that the childcare that we provide is right for your child’s particular needs and interests. When your child first starts at the setting, she will help your child to settle and throughout your child’s time at the setting she will help your child to benefit from our activities.

Little Acorns

Little Acorns is for our children attending that are 18 months- 2 years.

This age group is run by Charlotte. At focus times the children come together and we allow the Little acorns and our other groups to do the activity together, we find the younger and older children thrive when working together. Staff are there to support the children and ensure all activities are age appropriate and differentiated for the children.

Seedlings is our next age group within Parkside. This group is for children aged 2 till the year before they venture to school.

Rhiannon Grimsey is lead of seedlings accompanied by Louise Kirtland and Basia Nowak-Peterson, and Megan Lyddaman. This is our largest age group and is an extremely significant developmental stage in a child’s life, which impacts greatly on their future attitude towards learning.

Oak class is for our pre-school aged children. They move up to Oak class in their year before they go to school.

Mica Robinson, our early years educator leads this class and ensures the children are prepared for their transition to school. Mica plans, alongside Michelle, school readiness activities and liaises with the schools to plan visits to make the transition as easy as possible.
